Hello! I’m Jess Lunn, founder of Beyond the Inbox — a service that blends virtual assistance with product and design expertise to support ambitious businesses.

I created Beyond the Inbox to combine my diverse professional experience and offer meaningful, adaptable support to business owners and teams. With vast experience across customer service, operations, tech, and UI/UX design, I bring a versatile skill set that allows me to step in where and when you need support - whether that’s managing operations, optimising processes, or creating user-focused digital experiences.

My career path hasn’t followed a straight line — and that’s precisely what makes it valuable. I began in the equestrian world, with over 20 years of experience owning, competing, and training horses, as well as working on competition yards. I also ran my own livery yard and a dog grooming salon. That entrepreneurial and hands-on experience taught me how to manage complex schedules, coordinate multiple priorities, and deliver results under pressure - skills I now apply to every client and project.

From there, I moved into business operations, taking on everything from admin and HR to project management and product design - most recently within a fast-paced healthcare startup of around 30 employees. I’ve worked closely with CEOs and COOs, helped diversify business models, led tech and design initiatives, and kept daily operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

I hold a Level 5 Professional Certificate in Product Design (UI/UX), continually refining my skills in creating intuitive, user-focused systems and digital experiences. These expertise allow me to offer more than traditional VA services - I can support workflow optimisation, process design, and product-focused projects alongside day-to-day business support.
